A highlight of the IAAPA Expo 2025 in Orlando: The slide coaster was honored with the coveted Brass Ring Award for “Best New Product” in the category “Water Park Ride/Attraction - Product cost of more than US $2 million.” The award stands for innovation and creativity in the global leisure and water attraction industry.
The slide coaster combines elements of a water ride and a roller coaster and offers guests a unique experience: in specially designed boats, they are accelerated at up to 0.8 g, reach speeds of up to 50 km/h, and then glide to the finish on a spectacular water slide. This concept combines adrenaline and water fun in an unprecedented way.
Norwegian Cruise Line was the first partner to embrace this innovation and successfully implemented the slide coaster on a cruise ship in collaboration with us. Hendrik Wiegand, Managing Director of wiegand.waterrides, emphasizes: “The collaboration with NCL was crucial in realizing the slide coaster on a ship and thrilling guests worldwide.”
The Brass Ring Awards pick up on an old tradition of amusement parks and today stand for extraordinary ideas and their influence on the attraction industry. For us, the award underscores our team's commitment to setting new standards in the field of water slides.
