The Big Banana Fun Park (https://bigbanana.com/) in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, has steadily developed into a vibrant amusement centre ever since it first opened in 1964. A highlight among the numerous crowd-pullers is the classic Wiegand summer toboggan with trough-shaped track, which has been offering visitors fun and action for over 30 years.
The latest attraction, Wiegand’s "Plantation Coaster", is proof positive of the park continuing to provide exciting experiences for visitors of all ages.
The construction of the "Plantation Coaster" was part of an ambitious masterplan for the Big Banana Fun Park. With an estimated investment of over AUD 5 million, it is one of the most important attractions on the North Coast of New South Wales.
The installation of the Alpine Coaster’s final section of track was completed at the end of November 2025, after which the ride was successfully inspected by the German TÜV and approved for operation.
"The installation was challenging - the demanding terrain and the precision-manufactured components from Germany made every stage of the construction a task that demanded total concentration. That makes us all the more proud of what we’ve achieved and absolutely delighted in being able to offer our guests a very special attraction," continued Michael Lockman.
We would like to thank the park for the trust it has placed in us and hope that the ride attracts countless thrilled passengers. May the Plantation Coaster exceed expectations and be a major draw for many years to come!
