BMW World in Munich was looking for something out of the ordinary to promote their latest car model - the electric iX1 - and to draw more attention to the building visually from the outside.
The difficult task was the fact that the building itself could not be touched and no foundations could be set on the forecourt.
Wiegand developed a free-standing 50ft high and 1180ft long dry slide with a custom round support structure that is not only functional but also visually particularly appealing. The stainless-steel tube slide is of course presented in the original BWM blue. Every visitor to BWM World over 3,6ft can slide down free of charge starting at the panorama roof terrace. The guests are photographed by an integrated system and can take the picture with them as a souvenir.
Initially, this slide was only approved temporarily, but now it will reopen next spring for at least another year of slide fun!
