With the official opening of the new slide park in Hohenbodman, an attractive recreational facility has been created for families, day-trippers, and locals. At the heart of the project are three tube slides that lead from the playground in the village center to the Turmstraße parking lot, the starting point for a visit to the observation tower.
The idea for the slide park originated as part of the tourism concept of the municipality of Owingen. After considering various planning options, the ideal location was found on the slope between the village center and the observation tower. The three tube slides make optimal use of the terrain’s natural elevation difference and create an extraordinary connection between the two areas.
With slide lengths of up to just under 30 meters and elevation differences of up to 12 meters, the slides offer a varied sliding experience for visitors of all ages. At the same time, the slide park complements the existing recreational offerings around the observation tower, the Aachtobel Nature Reserve, and the region’s numerous hiking and biking trails.
At the official opening, numerous visitors took the opportunity to thoroughly test the new slides. The overwhelming response made it clear even on opening day that the new attraction will become a popular destination for locals and visitors alike.
