The operators of Shoppyland Schönbühl, the fifth largest shopping centre in Switzerland, have also recognised that slides in shopping centres are a good thing. From now on there is a new attraction in addition to the more than 80 shops and gastronomic facilities:
A spectacular 30-metre-long slide leads from the third to the ground floor, providing exciting variety in addition to the pleasure of shopping. If the direct route is taken from below to the start of the slide 12 m further up, this can also be reached via a spiral staircase which, like the slide, is attached to a pylon with cantilevers. The installation is completely covered with a transparent cover, so that the rider can always look outside, but in return is also under constant observation. Illuminations provide additional effects and bring variety to the rapid slide.
For us as the manufacturer, the planning and construction of the slide represented a special challenge: Due to the relatively limited space, good ideas and creativity were required in order to find a suitable solution that would also match the style of Shoppyland. Reactions of the management as well as of the shopping centre visitors show that once again we succeeded in this very well.
