New tourist attraction at Lake Constance

Wiegand Slides, together with architect Susanne Fritz, has created a new flagship tourist attraction in a premium location in Romanshorn on the Swiss side of Lake Constance.

The headland, christened ‘Robins Horn’, was supposed to be used for tourism for about 7 years in order to enhance the harbour of the Swiss Romanshorn.
After the successful cooperation in the open-air pool of Romanshorn with a large V4A stainless steel water slide, the municipality again chose the German family-owned company Wiegand for the construction of the towers.

Handmade
The two large towers were elaborately handcrafted according to the plans of the office of Susanne Fritz. Subsequently, a heavy transport brought the towers to Lake Constance and even by ferry across directly to Romanshorn. Together with the landscape design, a harmonious picture emerges which will be further refined when the towers are overgrown with climbing plants.

Special feature
‘Robin's Horn’ has an elaborate story about Robin Hood as a background. Accordingly, there is a book and graphics. A system patented by Wiegand is “Wie-Glow” and transforms the tube slides into true stories. The guests experience the hand-painted, fluorescent details from the story chronologically as they slide.

Elaborate LED light staging
In the evening and on special occasions, both towers are illuminated with an elaborate and carefully staged lighting display by the Austrian company WEAD light engineers. Spectacular light shows are also programmed here, which usually take place once a evening to the delight of visitors.
