Fantasiana opens new family slide combination

In Strasswalchen, 40 minutes from Salzburg, a Wiegand stainless steel tower has been opened, offering two different slide experiences.

There had previously been a GRP version in the park, but this was no longer in good condition after many years of use and something more permanent was needed. The park’s owners, the Gabler family, therefore decided to purchase a high-quality stainless-steel version of the popular family wave slide.

Wiegand built not only the 11-metre high and almost 40-metre long wave slide, featuring 3 lanes, but also the tower, the platform and the stairway up to it.

The positioning of the new slide is also completely different now. An old, small pond as a its location required more foundations than initially hoped for, but everything worked out well and the redesign of the landscape and the view of the front of the wave slide for spectators make for a lovely revitalisation of this area.

And there’s MORE

In addition to the wave slide, the Fantasiana adventure park in Strasswalchen decided to build a modern freefall slide. Visitors hurtle down on the slide mats almost in free fall - first through a section covered with Makrolon (acrylic) and then through a small tunnel. It really does take a fair old bit of effort! LED traffic lights, meanwhile, keep everyone safe.

LED lighting adds drama after dark

At the height of summer and especially around Halloween, Fantasiana is open into the evening hours. In collaboration with the Austrian company WEAD light engineers, Wiegand has installed high-quality LED strips in the arches of the free-fall slide, which offer various eye-catching programmed light shows for slide users and spectators alike.

We wish all Fantasiana Adventure Park visitors hours of fun, racing down the new wave slide!
