On 18th of February, what is now the 12th education fair started in Fulda's Esperanto Hall. Over two days, 172 companies and their training professions were showcased on an area of 4,300 square metres.
"What makes it special is that pupils get first-hand information. They can talk one on one with the trainees. No careers advice can offer this so it is unique, "emphasizes Armin Gerbeth, Head of Vocational Training at the Fulda Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
Most of the future trainees and their parents made great use of Sunday, and on Monday the majority of school classes were able to get a more general overview of the training on offer.
Heiko Semmelroth, one of our trainers, was there with several trainees and some who had completed training to answer any questions interested young people might have.
“Taking part in the education fair is important in terms of showcasing our company and making it interesting - today's young people want to be inspired and need something to look at and touch. For us, the education fair with around 500 interested visitors is a complete success and we look forward to a lot of applications ", says Heiko Semmelroth.
Our Alpine Coaster sled as well as the model of a water slide complex with integrated slide wheel provided a small insight into the company's activities, along with a host of photographs on the exhibition wall along with our roll-ups.
Unfortunately, the demographic change is now also making itself felt in the number of school leavers. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find interested young people who want to take on a classical apprenticeship. The capacities in our company are designed for up to 12 trainees. We train construction mechanics, technical system planners, electronics technicians and industrial clerks and are still looking for interested pupils to fill the vacant training places.
Companies have long since realised that a huge presence in the media is no longer enough and that local events are essential when it comes to attracting future specialists for training in the company. That is why we have already registered for the 13th education fair, which will take place in Fulda in two years' time.
